A Flood Watch remains in effect for Cobb County.

Remember that no matter where you live or work, some risk of flooding may exist. Search for your FEMA flood zone and learn about your flood risk at www.cobbcounty.gov/water/your-water/stormwater/flood-risk

The wet pattern continues with "rinse and repeat" showers and thunderstorms expanding across the area this afternoon and evening. A flood watch is in effect for much of north and central Georgia. Rain rates may exceed 2-3" per hour.

Cobb County is under a Flood Watch.

Avoid walking or driving through flood water. Remember, turn around, and stay safe!

Learn more about flood risk at www.cobbcounty.gov/water/your-water/stormwater/flood-risk

Multiple rounds of rainfall are expected to move across the area this afternoon through Monday evening. An anomalously moist environment over north Georgia will support high rain rates (1-2"+/hour) which will lead to increased chances for localized flash flooding. Please be mindful of the weather conditions especially if you have any outdoor plans.

Happy International Day for Biological Diversity!

Cobb County and Marietta City School 3rd-graders learn about biodiversity and how their everyday actions connect to watershed stewardship in the Brooke and Branch Puppet Show. This program introduces the unique plants and animals living right here in our community and why protecting them matters.

In this clip, Brooke is discovering native frogs like the American bullfrog and the Spring peeper, just a few of the many species that call our local ecosystems home! 🐸

Cobb County’s biodiversity is something special, and it starts with understanding and protecting our watersheds. When we take care of our water, we take care of everything that depends on it.

Want to learn more about Cobb County's unique biodiversity? Join us for our next Frog and Salamander Stroll.

A big congratulations to Madeline Ambery, the winner of the 2026 Volunteer T-Shirt Design Contest. Her work was chosen from 16 designs in a vote by the Water System volunteers.

This year’s inspiration was a solid reminder from author Chris d'Lacey: “What you take from the earth, you must give back. That's nature's way”.

Madeline takes home a cash prize, and her original art will be featured on the shirts for all the utility’s volunteers this year. It is great to see the annual partnership between the Cobb County Water System and Kennesaw State University’s Graphic Design class continuing to showcase local talent.
