When someone overdoses in Washington County, the Recovery Engagement Team makes sure they know they are not alone.
The RET is a program the Washington County Behavioral Health Board helps fund. Two teams, one for the county and one for Marietta, made up of law enforcement, Rigel Recovery Services, Hopewell Health Centers, Memorial Health Systems, and peer recovery supporters working together.
Their purpose is clear. They meet people battling addiction where they are in the community, especially people who have recently experienced an overdose, and show them that someone cares. That recovery is possible. That help is available right here.
This is not about judgment. It is about reaching people in one of the hardest moments of their lives and connecting them to support before they slip through the cracks.
Because behind every overdose is a person. And behind every person is a family, a story, and a chance to heal.
