It has been a beautiful month celebrating our country's Hispanic Heritage.

On Wednesday, we celebrated our Hispanic Heritage with Mrs. Wendy Corona, WSB-TV Channel 2 news anchor, joining us. Mrs. Corona shared the joy of literacy by reading to our students in Spanish, reminding us that stories connect us, languages enrich us, and reading brings us together!

Experiences like these help our students celebrate different cultures, appreciate the beauty of language, and recognize the importance of seeing themselves and their heritage represented and embraced in the world around them.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Mrs. Wendy for sharing her time, her heritage, her kindness, and her love of reading with our Panthers!

Two Languages. One Story. A Shared Love of Reading.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, our Panthers experienced the joy of storytelling in English with our school librarian and in Spanish with WSB-TV Channel 2 news anchor, Wendy Corona!

Different languages, one beautiful message: Reading connects us all!

Yeehaw! Our teachers enjoyed Western Day at Powers Ferry!

Our teachers traded their professional duds for boots, hats, and denim. There's never a dull moment when our staff saddle up their school spirit!

We reckon we've got the best crew in the West!

Performing Arts came to Powers Ferry!

We were excited to welcome The Atlanta Opera at The Ferry for a special in-house Performing Arts experience!

Our Panthers had the opportunity to experience the magic of a live performance right here at school while being introduced to the incredible world of opera, music, and storytelling.

What a wonderful experience it was!

Panthers are going green!

Our Recycling Club is helping make Powers Ferry a cleaner, greener place! These student leaders are learning how small actions -- like recycling paper, plastic, and other reusable materials -- can make a BIG difference for our school and planet.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Repeat!
