RFFD personnel enjoyed attending the 4th of July celebration at Mountain Lake Colony this afternoon. We want to say thank you for the wonderful meal, fireworks display and fun time spraying the kids!

This afternoon, at approximately 1630 hours, River Falls FD Tanker #63 responded to a reported car fire on Copperline Dr. Upon arrival, the vehicle was fully involved, however, personnel was able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent further spreading. Slater-Marietta FD Tanker #70 responded as mutual aide.

Yesterday afternoon, Rescue 63, Engine 63 and Pickens County EMS responded to a single car MVA on Persimmon Ridge Rd, approximately 1 mile up from the lower entrance off of Geer Hwy.

Friday evening, RFFD personnel attended a wonderful appreciation dinner provided to us by Awanita Valley Christian Camp to show their support & admiration to our department for the recent Persimmon Ridge wildland fire. In addition, Chief Shane Walton, surprised each member involved in the epic fire with a plaque to show his appreciation for our service & dedication to the River Falls Community for our efforts on that fire. We are grateful to have such community support and a chief who cares about his people.
