June is PTSD Awareness Month.
Today, we recognize the silent battles fought by so many of our first responders, healthcare professionals, and military members. Day after day, these men and women answer calls for help, witness tragedy, provide comfort during someone's worst moments, and carry burdens that many will never fully understand.
PTSD is not a sign of weakness. It is a human response to experiencing and witnessing traumatic events. Behind the uniforms, badges, scrubs, and ranks are people who deserve support, understanding, and access to the help they need.
To those who serve our communities and our country: thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and dedication. If you are struggling, know that you are not alone. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and healing is possible.
This month, let's raise awareness, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and remind those who serve that their well-being matters too.
