After raising more than $1.7 million for 27 local nonprofits last year, Cobb Community Foundation is launching Match Magic 2026 — its holiday fundraising initiative designed to help Cobb nonprofits increase community support through matching funds, visibility, and fundraising tools.

Nonprofits serving Cobb County are invited to join the upcoming Grant Seeker Info Session 2 - 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, on Zoom to learn more about the application process, eligibility requirements, key campaign dates, and more.

Here's a little bit about the tourney for you.
FIFA FYI for beginners

⚽48 teams will play 104 matches June 11 to July 19.
⚽Games are being held across the U.S., Canada and Mexico

⚽All teams are guaranteed three matches in the group stage of the tournament.
What's the Group Stage?
— Teams have been assigned to 12 different four-team groups.
— The top two teams from each group are guaranteed to advance, as will the eight best third-place teams.
— Teams finishing fourth in groups are eliminated.

⚽ The 32 remaining teams will enter a single-elimination tournament.
⚽Teams that lose in the semifinals will advance to a third-place match the day before the World Cup final.

Stay cool out there. Drink lots of water and get relief indoors.

Hope House will open its doors to the Cooling Center in anticipation of the elevated temperature over the next two days, Saturday, June 13, from 12 noon - 6:30 p.m.
Clients will receive lunch and dinner before their departure.
The Hope House shelter is located at 1297 Bells Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30066.

Hope House is operated by MUST Ministries in partnership with Cobb County.

Cobb County Libraries are also open during the day as a cooling option.

Today, June 12, is the final day of advance voting in the primary runoff races at polling places throughout the county. Go to the Cobb Elections site for hours and locations: https://www.cobbcounty.gov/elections/voting/advance-voting

The primary runoffs will include races such as the top Republican candidates for senator, Georgia governor, lieutenant governor, and secretary of state. The Democratic runoff includes candidates for lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and commissioner of insurance. The primary runoff election will be held Tuesday, June 16.

Anyone who is registered to vote in Georgia can vote in federal, state, and local runoff elections.
