Must have a valid Driver's License
You will work approximately 14 days a month. You will receive 4 days of training before you start your shift. Pay starts at $13.59 an hour and will increase after a 90-day probationary period. Longevity Pay, Health Insurance (dental and vision), Paid Vacations, and much more.
A Detention Officer is responsible for the following duties. Safety and Security of our officers, the facility, and inmates.
Processing inmates in and out of custody.
Inventory of property. Managing, Supervising, Monitoring inmates. Managing doors, intercom system, surveillance, and answering phones. Logs / incident reports, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must have good communication skills.
Must be able to perform defense tactics, if de-escalation doesn't work.
Frequent contact with hostile/combative inmates. Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, ascending, and descending stairs. Potential exposure to odors, fragrances, and communicable diseases.
Required to lift up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
