Washington Morgan Community Action Head Start & Early Head Start WMCAP Head Start & Early Head Start offers free, high quality early childhood programs for pregnant women and children ages birth - five.

Washington Morgan Community Action has proudly served as a Head Start grantee since 1967, adding Early Head Start services in 1998. Head Start was designed to help break the cycle of poverty, providing preschool children of low-income families with a comprehensive program to meet their emotional, social, health, nutritional and psychological needs. Through center locations or home based services,

our program aims to prepare children and families for Kindergarten, ensuring children are healthy, both physically and mentally. Home based services are available in your home anywhere in Washington or Morgan Counties. Center locations are currently in:
Belpre, Ohio
Malta, Ohio
Marietta, Ohio
New Matamoras, Oh

OhioKAN is a free statewide kinship and adoption navigator program that helps families connect to the resources they need most. Whether it is help with basic needs, child care, school supports, legal services, or financial assistance, OhioKAN Navigators work one-on-one with families to find solutions that fit their unique situation.

This program is built on the belief that families are strong, resilient, and capable. OhioKAN simply helps connect the dots.

The Washington County Master Gardeners will be teaching these drop-in classes for ages 2-12 as part of the Plant a Seed, Read Summer Reading Program. No registration is required. Come learn all about sunflowers and plant one to take home!

There are three different summer food programs available in Morgan County this summer! These programs are not sponsored by Early Intervention, but we wanted to share them as a resource for families in our community.

A big thank you to all of the organizations and individuals who have worked hard to make these programs possible. We have included the original flyers in the comments for additional details, but thought it would be helpful to have all three programs listed in one place so no one misses out on these great opportunities!

Summer Meals Begin Tuesday, June 9!

Morgan Local Schools is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our community this summer through our Summer Meals Program.

Beginning Tuesday, June 9, and continuing every Tuesday through the end of July, families can pick up a week's worth of meals for eligible children ages 1–18 at any of our three elementary schools.

⏰ Pickup Time: 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

If you are in line by 11:30 a.m., meals will still be provided.
