Outrage is growing over the misguided and cynical plan to bulldoze the Ballona Wetlands State Ecological Reserve, 640 acres that is teeming with 1,700 species of wildlife and plants, some threatened and endangered. Owls, foxes, skunks, egrets and many more animals! All of them will be obliterated!

In Defense of Animals will host a Virtual Town Hall to discuss denied public access on Tuesday, August 18th at 5pm Pacific Time. Register to join the Zoom meeting: https://bit.ly/3fo4o6R

The event begins as we announce a lawsuit filed by nationally recognized civil rights, environmental and animal protection attorney Bryan W. Pease to stop this environmentally destructive boondoggle.

Here’s what we are working on with the help of our neighbors - Update on the peninsula slow streets which is just one day with temporary signs to limit outside traffic into our neighborhood designed to help with social distancing and foster neighborhood relaxed areas for the day. Stay tuned and please discuss the program favorably with your neighbors with an eye out for those who may want to act as intersection monitors. (That just means you put plastic barricades back up when they get knocked down. Thanks all.
