Happy Labor Day, ! Join us in honoring the hard work and dedication of workers across our community and nation.

Marina City Hall will be closed Monday, Sept. 7. Administrative offices reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, while police, fire and emergency services remain fully operational throughout the holiday weekend.

🏛️ Join the City of Marina for an upcoming tour of City facilities!
Residents are invited to get a firsthand look at the current condition of key public buildings, including spaces that support City operations and public safety.

Every third Thursday, the City conducts these tours to show the challenges Marina is working to address, including aging infrastructure, limited space and accessibility needs.
The City encourages residents to come see the facilities for themselves, ask questions and learn more about the condition of these buildings and the long-term planning underway to better serve the community.

The City of Marina recently welcomed five students from its sister city of Izunokuni, Japan, as part of the Youth Homestay Exchange Program. 🤝

During their visit, the students met peers at Marina High School and toured the Monterey Peninsula. A special thank you to the local volunteer host families who made this experience possible.

🗳️Did you know the proposed UUT tax is a general tax, meaning it requires approval by a majority of the City residents voting on it?

If approved by voters, the proposed 7% tax would go towards the City’s General Fund which supports services like public safety, emergency response, repairs and upgrades to police, fire and City facilities, street and pothole repairs and any other general City services. To ensure accountability, the measure requires annual reporting, independent audits, community oversight and public disclosure of how all funds are used.

🚓🚒Public safety is a top priority for Marina. Relocating the City's aging Police and Fire facilities could improve emergency response times, address space limitations, meet current seismic safety standards and better serve Marina's growing community.
