Marine City Area Fire Authority would like to Thank Algonac, Clay twp, Ira twp, St Clair fire, Tri-Hospital ems, Marine City Police Dept and St Clair County Central Dispatch for their assistance with our structure fire this morning. Great team work by all. Homeowner were able to get out and are safe. The fire is still under investigation no other information at this time. Thank you Chief Slankster

Tonight's training for Marine City Area Firefighters was extrication and getting the newer Firefighters used to the Jaws of life and cutter along with vehicle stability. Nice job all. We would like to Thank EHE auto sales on King road for the donation of the cars.

To beat the heat at training yesterday evening, we invited our families out to play Waterball.

Tonight's training was dodgeball. This is a nice break for our members from the usual rigid structure and rote skills we practice. Air Management, breathing techniques, and teamwork are all emphasized during these rounds. Happy to say that the senior firefighters prevailed 8 rounds out of 10!

Marine City Area Fire Authority is accepting applications for the position of PAID ON CALL FIREFIGHTERS. This position is responsible for responding to fire, rescue, medical and other emergency incidents within our service area.
Minimum requirements are as follows.

Must be 18 years of age
Posses a valid drivers license
High school diploma or GED
Ability to respond to call within a reasonable time
Pass a background check
Pass a medical physical and drug screening
Must be willing to complete required State Of Michigan Firefighters training and certification

Responsibilities
Respond to Fire, rescue, EMS, and public service calls
Participate in weekly trainings
Assist with equipment checks and station duties
Work safely as part of a team in emergency situations

Compensation
Paid on call Firefighters are compensated hourly for:
Emergency response calls
Scheduled weekly trainings
Department meetings
Stand-by assignments

Last night's training consisted of several factors, all designed to meet our members experience and skill levels.

With a focus on water shuttling, our water tenders established a hydrant and a drop site for the portable water tank. This task is a crucial part of operations when there are not hydrants present in the rural parts of our coverage area.

Our engine operator walked members through how to pull a draft from a water source using hard suction and other considerations that need to be accounted for when working off of a portable tank.

Our newest member was able to get some one-on-one time with a senior firefighter to learn about hoselines, streams and hoseline advancement.
