We believe in fiscal responsibility and taxation that does not allow for a disproportionate distribution of wealth and power. We believe in a civil justice system that recognizes the equal rights of all citizens and does not favor the wealthy or powerful. We believe that we have an obligation to protect the earth. We believe that the United States should be a considerate world neighbor. We the Marinette County Democratic Party will work to incorporate these beliefs into our democratic way of life by being proactive in educating the public on issues that pertain to these beliefs; by recruiting appropriate candidates who subscribe to these beliefs; by studying and promoting legislation that supports these beliefs and by being diligent in making our voices heard when others would undermine these beliefs.

Polls are open tomorrow for the 2026 Partisan Primary!

⏰ Absentee ballot reminder: If you have an absentee ballot, it must be received by your municipal clerk by 8:00 PM tomorrow. Postmarked isn't enough — it has to be in hand by 8 PM. If you haven't returned it yet, drop it off in person at your clerk's office to be safe.

In this year's partisan primary, we're voting for a candidate for Wisconsin's Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District in the House, and Wisconsin State Assembly (no Democratic candidate running in the 36th Assembly District).

Your 8th Congressional District Representative Tony Wied has had a busy week in Washington, DC.

Since Monday, he has voted to:

- Keep the US in the Iran war, with no plan or end in sight

- Stop insider trading... but not really!! Bill H.R. 7008 has no real power to prevent insider trading, but instead snuck in a completely unrelated voter ID requirement at the end - part of their SAVE Act voter suppression efforts

- Deregulate banks, reducing oversight of our financial institutions and inviting risk (H.R. 6955)

- and the big budget buster... Tony voted to give more than $1.15 TRILLION to the DoD for a wide range of 2027 projects including a remarkably deep integration with Israel military forces, nuclear energy and security expansions, new equipment, and "construction projects" (H.R. 8800)

Tony seems to think that NE WI citizens want to pay for war and wall street, while giving up their own access to affordable healthcare, groceries, gas, and basic human needs.
