Last week, the Marion Fire Department responded to two separate vehicle fires—a reminder of how quickly these incidents can happen and how dangerous they can become.
Vehicle fires don’t usually start big—they often begin with something small: a mechanical issue, electrical failure, or fluid leak. Within minutes, that small problem can turn into a fully involved fire.
⚠️ Stay Alert. Stay Safe.
* Keep up with regular vehicle maintenance
* Watch for warning signs (burning smells, smoke, leaking fluids)
* Never ignore dashboard alerts
* If you suspect a fire, pull over immediately, get out, and move a safe distance away
* Call 911—do NOT attempt to fight the fire yourself
Your safety—and the safety of your family—comes first.
