Storms are expected to develop over western Kansas with some of this activity spreading into central Kansas during the evening hours. The stronger storms will be capable of producing up to quarter size hail and damaging winds around 70mph.

Scattered storms are expected to move-in from western Kansas through 6 pm. The stronger storms will be capable of producing 60 to 70 mph winds along with quarter size hail.

Above normal temperatures are likely for both Thursday and Friday with many locations getting into the 90s! Strong south winds are also anticipated for Thursday with gusts in the 40 to 45 mph range likely.

There will be a slight chance for a couple storms early Thursday evening across parts of mainly central Kansas. If a storm is able to develop, large hail and downburst winds will be the main threats.

Today will be mostly sunny with pleasant temperatures. There will be chances for showers and thunderstorms from Thursday through Sunday. During most of the day expect partly cloudy skies with warm temperatures. If the drlyline reaches the southwest counties Thursday through Sunday, then high temperatures will be in the middle to upper 90s. Most everywhere else will see highs in the upper 8os to lower 90s.. Thunderstorms will develop during the late afternoon and overnight. The storms could linger into the mid morning hours. Be weather aware since some of the storms will be strong to severe from Thursday through Sunday.

An active and warm weather pattern is expected through the end of the week. After near normal temperatures today, temperatures in the 80s and 90s are expected into the weekend. Repeated chances for a few showers and storms are also expected.
