Employers are hiring TODAY in Gas City. 💼

The Grant County Job Fair runs from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the Gas City-Mill Township Public Library, 135 E. Main St. WorkOne Northeast is hosting, and the event is open to the public.

Today’s employers include Aerotek, Cafe Valley Bakery, Grant Regional Career Center, New Indy Containerboard, Peoplelink Staffing Solutions - Marion, Huhtamaki, Novae, Weaver Popcorn, ReElement Technologies, and Dollar General Distribution Center.

Can’t make it today? The fair continues tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. with additional employers including Hartson-Kennedy Inc., Leaders Staffing, Walmart Distribution Center, and TLC Management & Construction.

One week out. The last session in the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center’s (ISBDC) Grant County virtual workshop series is Setting Goals for Your Small Business, led by business consultant James Womack.

In 1923, a Marion man was president of 11 foundries in three states. Two are still pouring iron. Only one never left home.

Atlas Foundry Company Inc has operated on Marion's west side since 1893. It survived a five-year Depression closure, the loss of its largest customer and a fire at a sister plant that, as it turned out, paid for its first automated molding line. Today its castings anchor rows of seats at Wrigley Field and Busch Stadium.

This interactive lunch and learn delivers practical tools: a clearer read on customer motivations, a journey map of how customers interact with your business and an action plan for rolling out improvements.

Two opportunities this month to connect Grant County talent with Grant County employers.

📅 Wednesday, Oct. 7 | Greater Grant County College & Career Fair.
More than 1,500 juniors and seniors from every Grant County high school will meet with employers and colleges at Indiana Wesleyan University from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students who stop by the Growth Council table can take home a free caricature by Fairmount artist Mark Kinnamon. 🎨

📅 Tuesday, Oct. 13 and Wednesday, Oct. 14 | Grant County Job Fair
WorkOne Northeast (Northeast Indiana Works) will host employers including Huhtamaki, New Indy Containerboard, Walmart Distribution Center, and Dollar General Distribution Center from 1 to 5 p.m. each day at the Gas City-Mill Township Public Library, 135 E. Main St. Each day features a different employer lineup, so check both.
