Applications for Local Food Infrastructure Grants open soon in Illinois. All applicants must pre-register before submitting an application. Registration may take 2-4 weeks. Funding from the grants can support value-added processing, livestock processing, milling, dairy, refrigerated vehicles, food hubs, community kitchens and other critical pieces of the local food supply chain.

New executive orders have been filed to temporarily allow farmers to use red-dyed diesel fuel in their over-the-road vehicles. Here's what Illinois farmers should know about the change.

PLEASE SHARE! Applications are now open for the FY27 Small Equipment Grant Program. 🧯 OSFM will award a total of $6 million to eligible fire departments, fire protection districts and not-for-profit ambulance services across Illinois to purchase small firefighting and emergency medical equipment.

OSFM has increased the maximum grant award to $50,000, nearly doubling the previous maximum of $26,000.

Meeting with community leaders and other elected officials from the 118th makes me better equipped to fight for you in Springfield. Thank you for sharing your concerns with me. We've got more meetings on the books and I will continue to fight for the 118th!

I was proud to join residents of Mounds, Illinois last week for a community forum. I’ve been working hard to help secure funding for Mounds to help improve their infrastructure. Hearing from them and delivering updates on funding that has been secured was a great experience. I look forward to continuing this work into the future.

I also had a great meeting with the Mayor of Grand Tower, Richard Pyatt. We talked about some improvements needed to his City Hall, the opportunities at Devil’s Backbone Campground, and how I can help support his community in general. I appreciate the Mayor making time to meet with me last week!

The VFW was founded as a support network for veterans and their families to receive the help they needed. For 127 years, the organization has proudly advocated on behalf of veterans and showed them the respect and care they deserve. Thank you to all our VFW chapters and members for all that you do!
