We would like to thank the Kansas Forest Service for the 4 inch hose we received to help with our rural pumper flow big water to structure fires. This 1000 feet of hose will help to be able to feed our deck gun if needed and do a rural hitch to private water up a long narrow driveway. While we were at it we got a good count on how many feet of hose we have and set it up for easier identification of attack and supply hose.

Ladder fuels, like the Eastern Red Cedar, shed burning embers which may be blown a mile or more ahead of the actual fire front. This is how Stillwater, Oklahoma lost more than 200 homes in a single fire last spring.
