Yesterday afternoon at approximately 5:22 PM we were dispatched to a baler and tractor fire spreading to the surrounding hay. Salem Fire and Rescue was requested for mutual aid. Units arrived on scene, and began fire attack and were able to disconnect the tractor and save it with minimal damage. Units worked on scene for approximately one hour before clearing.

Hay Baler, Grass Fire on Runyan Road

Crittenden County Volunteer Fire Department and Salem Fire Department responded Sunday evening to a hay baler and grass fire on Runyan Road.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and are now clearing the scene. No injuries have been reported.

This morning we responded mutual aid with a tanker and manpower to assist Salem Fire and Rescue with approximately 5 round bales of hay on fire.

𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 (𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) – 𝑃𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑑! Bridge repair work on Shelby Road at the Livingston-Crittenden County Line has been postponed due to weather and the 1-day closure is now scheduled for 8 AM Wednesday, Aug. 26 to 8 AM Thursday, Aug. 27.

NOTE: Shelby Road connects with Axel Creek Road in Crittenden County.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 (𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) – Shelby Road in Livingston County will be closed at mile point 0.94, at the Crittenden County Line, starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, for bridge repairs.

The bridge over Claylick Creek is located about 4.5 miles south of U.S. 60 & KY 133 at Salem. Shelby Road connects with Axel Creek Road in Crittenden County.

The closure is expected to remain in place until about 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, to allow the materials to fully cure before traffic resumes on the bridge.
