McDowell County Public Library The McDowell County Public Library (NC) has 2 locations--Marion, NC and Old Fort, NC. A picture ID, preferably a valid drivers license, is suggested.

The Abe Simmons Genealogy & North Carolina History Room is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 5:30pm and also the 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am to 5pm, but closed for lunch from 12:30pm-1:30pm. Items in the Genealogy room are for reference only and may not be removed from the room. Anyone over the age of five who lives, works , goes to school, or owns property in McDowell County may re

gister to borrow materials. To get a library card, bring one form of identification with your correct mailing address to the circulation desk. Children under 17 will need the signature of a parent or legal guardian. People who live outside the county may get a library card by paying a fee of $15, renewable annually. Loan Periods:
New Books and Magazines- 14 days
DVDs- 7 days
All other items- 21 days

Limits:
Borrow as many items as you can use and return on time, with the exception of audiobooks and DVDs/videos which are limited to 7 per borrower. You may renew materials by telephone up to 4 times, if the items are not reserved. Children under 17 may borrow videos and DVDs if a signed parental consent form is on file. Overdue Fines:
Videos/DVDs- $1.00 per day per item
All other materials- $.10 per day per item

We have some great adult programs coming up over the next couple of weeks at the Marion Library!

🌸 Join us tomorrow for our adult craft making scented sachets at 4 PM.

🀄 On Thursday, September 10 at 2 PM stop by for our new Mahjong Club!

📖 Stop by Book Club on Friday, September 11 at 1 PM.

🎃 Get into the fall spirit at this adult craft where we'll be making pumpkins on Tuesday, September 15 at 4 PM. (We'll also have craft kits available from 5-7 PM on the 15th for those who can't make the 4 PM time.)

Her love of books and children, especially through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, has helped put millions of books into little hands and inspired a love of reading in families everywhere.

Our decorations are just a small tribute to a very special lady whose kindness, generosity, and belief in the power of a good book have made the world a brighter place.

💻 Use our computers and Wi-Fi for homework, research, and school projects.
🌱 Check out seeds from our Seed Library.
🎫 Borrow Zoom Passes for local attractions and museums
🎬 Borrow movies and so much more!

This year we'll be having a Library Card Decorating Contest! 🎨 Pick up a library card template at the library, decorate it however you like, and enter it for a chance to win a prize! 🏆
