Celebrating family is a big deal at NCCC! ❤️

Recently, residents had the opportunity to spend a special day with their loved ones during our Back-to-School Extravaganza! 📚✏️

Residents and their guests enjoyed fun activities, laughter, and quality time together. Guests also had the opportunity to get fresh haircuts, courtesy of Binky’s Barbershop and Salon, just in time for the first day of school! 💇‍♂️💇‍♀️🎒

At NCCC, we understand the importance of family connections and the positive impact they can have. We’re proud to create opportunities that strengthen those bonds and create lasting memories. ❤️

Today, staff members had the honor of participating in the 33rd Steve Young Memorial Lodge 24 Annual Golf Outing! ⛳️

At NCCC, we truly cherish every opportunity to give back and be involved in the communities we serve. Thank you to Lodge 24 for the invitation and for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful event.

We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to next year’s outing! 💙⛳️

North Central Correctional Complex had the pleasure of welcoming Ohio House Representative Tracy Richardson of the 86th District.

Representative Richardson expressed her appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our staff, while also recognizing the many opportunities available to our residents. We are proud to showcase the programs, partnerships, and meaningful experiences that help prepare our residents for success beyond incarceration.

The positive interactions between our staff and residents were a true reflection of our B.I.O.N.I.C. philosophy- Believe It Or Not I Care.

We appreciate Representative Richardson taking the time to visit NCCC and see firsthand the dedication of our staff and the positive impact being made every day. We are proud of the work happening within our facility and grateful for the opportunity to share it with our community leaders. 👏💙

Today, some of our staff had the honor of attending the ODRC Women in Corrections Convention, where the theme was Crowned With Confidence. The stories shared by the guest speakers were heartfelt, inspiring, and motivating, reminding us of the strength, resilience, and leadership women bring to the field of corrections every day.

Thank you to the organizers and speakers for creating such a meaningful experience and for empowering those who continue to make a difference in the lives of others.

At North Central Correctional Complex (NCCC), we strive to bring a sense of normalcy to the lives of our residents. One of the many ways we accomplish this is through our Staff Doggy Daycare Program.

Fifty residents serve as Animal Trainers, spending 8–12 hours each day socializing, exercising, feeding, grooming, and bonding with the staff dogs entrusted to their care. These residents take great pride in their roles while developing valuable life skills, responsibility, patience, teamwork, and compassion—qualities they can carry with them long after their release.

The program also provides staff with meaningful opportunities to put our B.I.O.N.I.C. philosophy—Believe It Or Not I Care—into action. Working alongside residents in a positive, goal-oriented environment helps build trust, strengthen rapport, and foster relationships that support personal growth and rehabilitation. It’s a program that benefits not only our staff and residents, but also the canine companions who receive exceptional care and socialization each day.

Thank you to the Marion County Ohio Dog Pound for the opportunity to partner with you. We are excited to welcome these dogs into our program and watch their personalities blossom as they socialize with both staff and residents. Our animal trainers are eager to begin working with them, teaching basic obedience and helping prepare them for successful, loving forever homes. We look forward to making a positive difference, one dog at a time. 🐾❤️

You asked, we made it happen! This morning, 8 of our favorite pound dogs loaded up and moved into their new home for the next 6 weeks… the North Central Correctional Complex (NCCC).

In the “prison program”, the dogs will learn basic training and we will learn about the dogs’ personalities since they’ll be under round-the-clock care!

Help us wish Brutus, Neptune, Scooby, Ginger, Jenny, Palmer, Lacey, and Hogan the best of luck! We will see them in a few weeks!

Today, NCCC staff members had the privilege of participating in the Marion Matters Mad Dash Scavenger Hunt hosted by Marion Matters, Inc..

This impactful charity event was designed to open our eyes to the barriers many individuals face and to increase awareness of the resources available within our community. At each stop, we met with representatives who shared valuable information about the services they provide. We were tasked with answering questions and capturing photos and videos along the way, making the experience both engaging and informative.

Marion County has a wealth of resources that we were previously unaware of. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn more about these services so we can better assist and guide those in need. We now feel better equipped with resources we can carry forward in both our professional and personal lives.

Day 5 of Employee Appreciation Week: Staff were treated to a wonderful surprise this morning with donuts from the local bakery, Andrew's Pastries. For lunch, Morale Team members delivered a delicious spread of ham and turkey subs, chips, and chocolate chip cookies, lifting everyone's spirits. Thank you to the members of our Morale Team and our Staff Care Team for all your tireless efforts to make this week truly special!
