We’re Recruiting for the Next Election! 🗳️

We know we are still 76 days away from this November’s election. But if there is one thing we have learned, filing deadlines come up QUICK.

That is why we are already looking ahead to next fall and actively recruiting strong, community minded candidates who are ready to step up and serve.

We also have to be honest about where we are right now. Too often, our current leaders are not listening to the voices within our community. People are speaking up about real concerns, but those concerns are being ignored or pushed aside. That is exactly why we need new leadership that actually hears the people they represent.

There will be A LOT on the ballot, including:

🔹 Mayor
🔹 Auditor
🔹 Council President
🔹 All 9 City Council seats
🔹 Village offices
🔹 Township offices
🔹 Board of Education seats

If you have ever thought, “Someone should do something about that,” maybe that someone is YOU.

We want to build a strong, diverse slate of candidates who will give voters real choices next fall and that work starts NOW.

📢 6TH WARD DEMOCRATS — THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY!

The 6th Ward has an open seat on Marion City Council, and we need a strong Democrat from the 6th Ward who is ready to step up and serve our community.

If you are a 6th Ward resident who has ever thought about getting involved, now is the time. We need someone who will listen to residents, show up, and fight for the neighborhood and the future of Marion.

Marion City Council is accepting resumes for the vacancy, with resumes due by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1.

📣 Important message from the Marion County Democrats 📣

Last week, the Peace & Freedom Committee announced its decision to dissolve the organization. While this marks the end of an important chapter in Marion County, it also presents the Marion County Democratic Party with an important challenge as we look toward the future: finding a new meeting space.

We have been informed that our current lease at 790 Kenton Ave. will expire on December 31, 2026, and that we will not be able to renew the lease for another year.

As we begin this search, we are asking our community for assistance. If you are a local business owner, organization, event space operator, property owner, or someone who may have a connection to an available space, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Our goal is to find a welcoming and accessible location where we can continue holding our monthly meetings and bringing members of our community together.

We also want to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the Peace & Freedom Committee for the many years of work, dedication, and service they have given to Marion County. Their organization and meeting space have provided a place for countless conversations, gatherings, organizing efforts, and opportunities for community involvement over the years.

The work they have done has left a lasting mark on our community. While the organization may be dissolving, its legacy will not be forgotten. The impact of those who gave their time, energy, and passion to Peace & Freedom will continue to be felt for generations to come.

As we turn the page and begin this next chapter, we remain committed to building a strong, active, and inclusive Democratic Party in Marion County.

🍿 The Marion County Democrats are hitting the streets for the Marion Popcorn Parade! 🇺🇸

We’re looking for volunteers to ride with us and help us celebrate one of Marion’s favorite traditions. Whether you’ve marched with us before or this is your first time, we’d love to have you join our float!

We’re also accepting donations of straw to help decorate our trailer.

What an incredible day for Marion County Democrats!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made today’s event a huge success! More than 80 Democrats joined us to hear from candidates up and down the ballot, proving that our movement is growing and our momentum is real.

Today marks 100 days until Election Day. Over the next 100 days, every conversation, every volunteer shift, every phone call, every door knocked, and every vote will matter. Together, we have the opportunity to flip Ohio, elect leaders who will fight for working families, and move our communities forward.

Let’s keep this energy going; get involved, bring a friend, and let’s win this November! 💙🌊
