Marion High School Alumni This page is set up to communicate details regarding MHS Alumni Reunion that is held the 3rd weekend in June every year.

The first MHS All School Reunion was held in 1988. All MHS alumni were contacted and their overwhelming response led to the start of an annual All School Reunion, which is held the third Saturday in June the 25th and 50th anniversary classes are favored at the banquet. The first reunion, held June 18-20, 1988, was a huge success because of the work of so many, many people. Alumni, non-alumni, scho

ol and city employees, Jaycees and firemen all put in hours of planning and work to make the reunion so successful. 1500 alumni were fed at the banquet that year and though the temperature was 100 plus degrees, the crowd lined the streets for the parade. For the evening banquet, they packed the school, filling the gym, basement and all classrooms. That first year the evening ended with a street dance. The reunion weekend ended with a community church service on Sunday morning.

🍪☕ Bake Sale for a Great Cause! 🧁🍩

Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM for a delicious bake sale at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Marion!

➡️ Enter through the west door facing Broadway.

Come treat yourself to a wide variety of homemade goodies, including:
🥖 Quick breads
🍯 Caramel rolls & buns
🍪 Cookies & bars
🍩 Homemade donuts
…and so much more!

Grab a cup of coffee and a cookie for a free-will donation, or take home some amazing baked goods to share (or keep for yourself—we won’t judge 😉).

💛 Why we’re baking:
All proceeds will go toward the Marion All-School Alumni Reunion Fund, helping cover expenses like printing and event costs.

📬✨ Alumni Update – Registration Forms Are on the Way! ✨📬

We’re excited to share that our trial run of the new mailing system for the 36th Annual MHS Reunion is officially underway — and registration forms have been mailed out!

We’ve heard from a few alumni who haven’t received theirs yet. If yours hasn’t arrived, please reach out here on this page and we’ll gladly resend it. You can also use the contact information listed on the form if you’re able to print a copy.

The 36th Annual MHS Reunion is happening June 12th, 13th & 14th, 2026 — right here in Marion, South Dakota! We are especially proud to honor the Class of 1976 as they celebrate 50 years! 💛🖤

There are so many exciting events planned, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back home. Start spreading the word, mark your calendars, and get ready for a weekend full of memories, laughter, and reconnecting.

‼️‼️We’re excited to share that our Alumni Committee has collaborated with Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion‼️‼️

This year’s Alumni Reunion registration forms will be mailed out inside the Tieszen Memorial Home newsletter. Thank you to Laura Wilson and staff for all you did to make this happen. They are scheduled to go out this Friday, February 13th. Be sure to keep an eye on your mailbox and spread the word!

Throwback alert 📸—a picture some of you may not have seen in a long while! This gem was taken in 1983 in front of Dr. Al Tieszen’s home, featuring a car straight from Glenn Rapp’s lot. Fast-forward to today and most of these guys have officially crossed into their 60s 😄

And today we celebrate Larry Langerock’s 60th birthday—happy birthday, Larry! 🎉 Proof that the years fly by, but the memories never fade.

Fun side note: Coach Walton spotted this photo at his grandson’s college basketball game a few weeks ago. His reaction? “Good times, good times.” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves!! 👏
