Marion Fire-EMS Marion Fire-EMS was established on March 1, 2015 through the merger of the Marion Fire Department (est. 1888) and the Marion Life Saving Crew (est 1948).

The Marion Fire-EMS Department was established on March 1, 2015 through a merger of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department, which was established in 1888) and the Marion Life Saving Crew, which was established in 1948. Both organizations bring a long and proud history to the new Department and we look forward to serving the residents of our coverage area for many years to come! Fire Station: 231 West Main St. EMS Station: 230 South Park St.

This morning Marion Town Manager Andrew Keen announced that the Marion Town Council has appointed Richard Keesling, Jr. as the Chief of Marion Fire-EMS, succeeding Chief Rusty Hamm.

Chief Keesling has been a member of the Department for nearly 40 years and most recently served as the Department's Deputy Chief of Operations. Congratulations Chief Keesling!

DROUGHT UPDATE ⚠️: Here’s the latest drought monitor!!! Moderate to SEVERE drought remains across the region. EXTREME drought expanded into parts of SW VA, including Smyth/Washington counties. Yes, we’ve seen some rain but we need a lot more to put a dent in the drought. -TWAC1
