Signs may include:

If you suspect someone is experiencing heat stroke, call 9-1-1 immediately.

-Soak clothing with cool water or use a cool bath if available

Do not wait. Heat stroke is a serious medical emergency, and fast action can save a life.

Wireless Emergency Alerts, also known as WEAs, are short emergency messages sent directly to your phone when there is an immediate threat in your area.

These alerts may warn you about dangerous weather, public safety emergencies, AMBER Alerts, and other urgent situations that require quick action.

WEAs are designed to get your attention with a loud tone and vibration, even if you are not actively using your phone. When you receive one, stop what you are doing, read the alert, and follow the safety instructions provided.

Take a moment today to make sure emergency alerts are turned on in your phone settings.

Alerts can save lives. Stay aware, stay prepared, and stay safe.

Cooking fires can happen quickly, but a few simple habits can help keep you and your family safe.

Stay in the kitchen when frying, grilling, or broiling food. If you need to leave, even for a short time, turn off the stove.

When cooking, wear short, close-fitting, or tightly rolled sleeves to help prevent clothing from catching fire.

Grilling outside? Keep barbecue grills at least 10 feet away from siding, deck railings, eaves, and overhanging branches.

Always keep a fire extinguisher nearby and know how to use it.

A little caution can go a long way in preventing a fire. Stay alert and stay safe!

Fog can make driving conditions dangerous by reducing visibility and making it harder to react in time.

When driving in fog, slow down, avoid changing lanes or passing other vehicles unless absolutely necessary, and make sure you can stop within the distance you can see.

Use your low-beam headlights, increase your following distance, and stay alert.

When visibility drops, slow down and drive with caution.

Fires donโ€™t think ahead, but you can.

Taking a few simple steps now can make a big difference in an emergency.

Make fire safety part of your plan by:
โ€ข Being prepared
โ€ข Paying attention to local alerts and warnings
โ€ข Knowing your escape routes
โ€ข Installing smoke alarms and testing them monthly

Talk with your family about what to do if a fire happens in your home. Plan ahead, practice your escape plan, and make sure everyone knows how to get out quickly and safely.

A little preparation now can help protect the people you love most.
