Future entrepreneurs at work in Coach Vert’s Economics class! 💼📈

Students were challenged to step into the role of business owners and present their ideas to a panel of Arkansas investors in hopes of earning a $100,000 grant to jump-start their business ventures.

With Arkansas currently facing a deep economic recession, students had to think critically about how their businesses could not only survive tough economic times, but also help strengthen local communities and create opportunities for others. From innovative products to community-driven services, these young minds showcased creativity, professionalism, and real-world problem solving.

The future of Arkansas business is bright!

Our 9th graders celebrated BIG at their Good Behavior Party! Even though the rain moved the fun into the gym, it didn’t stop the laughter, games, and great memories. We are proud of these students for their hard work and positive choices all year long! 🎉👏

Take a look at all the community service hours our freshmen have submitted this year! 🎉

Just a reminder that all 9th grade students must have 75 community service hours before graduation! Students must document hours on the official district form and submit forms to Mrs. Johnson.

Current 8th grade students can begin working on hours toward graduation the day after school ends, June 6th. Forms are available in the counseling center.

The Marion Patriot Pride Band program is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members who will join the program for the 2026-27 school year.

Emily Norris joins Marion after working with marching band programs across west Tennessee and northern Mississippi, most recently at Lake Cormorant High School. Destiny Riddle brings a diverse background in music education, with experience in band programs throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma.

“We are excited to welcome Ms. Norris and Ms. Riddle to our band program,” said Marion Director of Bands Kristen Shepherd. “Both bring a tremendous passion for music education along with valuable experience in the classroom and performance settings. Their energy, talent, and commitment to students will make an immediate impact on our program. We look forward to the opportunities ahead as they help continue the tradition of excellence within Marion bands.”
