Stories from the Fireline Brings Firsthand Voices of Wildfire Response to the Mariposa County Library

Please join us at the Mariposa County Library, 4978 10th Street on April 9, 2026 (no registration needed). The Mariposa Fire Safe Council, in partnership with the Mariposa County Library, invites the community to attend Stories from the Fireline on Thursday, April 9 at 5:30 PM.

This free, family-friendly event will feature firsthand accounts from local first responders and emergency personnel who have served on the fireline and in the field. Through personal stories and real-world experiences, speakers will share insight into wildfire response, emergency operations, and what it takes to protect our community during critical incidents.

Stories from the Fireline is designed to create space for connection, learning, and appreciation by elevating the voices of those who respond during emergencies. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the realities faced by first responders, the importance of coordination across agencies, and how preparedness plays a vital role in community safety.

The event is open to all ages. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, making it an easy and accessible opportunity for families to attend together.

During the program, the Mariposa Fire Safe Council will briefly share information about their upcoming fundraiser, The Ember Stomp & The Fire and Emergency Preparedness Event in collaboration with Mariposa Safe Families, UCCE and Mariposa County Fire. This discussion will offer opportunities available to the community for participation. This information will be shared as a resource for those interested in continued engagement, while the primary focus of the evening remains on storytelling and first responder experiences.

Stories from the Fireline is free to attend and open to the public. Community members of all ages are encouraged to join for an evening of conversation, learning, and connection.
