A huge thank you to the Lepanto Fire Department, Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, Poinsett County OEM, and Marked Tree Police Department for their assistance with the fire at Poinsett Rice and Grain this morning. The fire occurred in a room
approximately 200 feet above the ground, atop the grain silos, where radio equipment and repeaters were housed. We truly appreciate everyone’s help and teamwork!

We’re incredibly grateful to DripDrop Hydration and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) for selecting the Marked Tree Fire Department as a recipient of the 2026 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Campaign! This generous donation will help keep our firefighters and EMS personnel hydrated during training, emergency responses, extreme heat, and long incidents. Staying hydrated helps our crews perform at their best and safely serve our community. Thank you for supporting first responders and helping us continue protecting Marked Tree! 💧🚒

Today was one of the hardest days our community has ever faced as we laid our fallen brother in blue, Officer Trevor Howard, to rest. There are no words that can truly express the heartbreak of saying goodbye to someone who dedicated his life to protecting others. Today, we mourned not only a police officer, but a son, a friend, a brother, and a hero. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every fire department that stood on the overpasses as the procession passed. Your salute was a powerful reminder that the brotherhood of first responders stands together, even in our darkest moments. To everyone who lined the streets of Marked Tree as Officer Howard made his final patrol through the town he loved and faithfully served—thank you. Your presence, your tears, your flags, and your silent respect showed that his sacrifice will never be forgotten. Officer Howard, your watch on earth has ended, but your legacy will live on in every life you touched and every person who wears the badge. You will forever remain a part of this community and forever be our brother. Rest easy, Officer Howard. We have the watch from here.
