Early Saturday morning around 1:00 AM, the Marked Tree Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle accident on I-555 at Exit 14. A semi truck hauling eggs overturned in the median, turning the northbound lanes into the county’s largest (and least convenient) omelet.

Both the driver and passenger were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

We’re grateful to report that thanks to a quick response, the situation didn’t stay scrambled for long. Huge thanks to Marked Tree Police Department, Poinsett County Sheriff’s Department, Poinsett County OEM, Rusty’s Garage, The Body Shop Towing, and Joe Barnes for cracking into the cleanup and helping get traffic flowing again. Your teamwork truly made a difference.
