The Markesan Historical Society is holding a raffle for a one-of-a-kind commemorative coin with proceeds benefitting the Markesan Public Library. See their original post below for information on how you can have a chance to win a very cool piece of Markesan memorabilia.
Markesan Historical Society Launches Limited-Edition Coin Raffle Fundraiser
The Markesan Historical Society is excited to announce that its community coin raffle has officially begun. Raffle tickets are now available for purchase at the Markesan Public Library, Horicon Bank and Chris' Floral. ****Tickets will also be available this Saturday at the museum from 1 to 4pm while we are open and at the Cemetery Walk on Monday at Tichora Cemetery.*****
Only 250 tickets will be sold, giving community members a unique opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind commemorative coin while supporting the Markesan Public Library. Tickets are priced at $5 each or five tickets for $20.
The drawing will take place at 8:00 p.m. on June 27, 2026.
The winner will receive one six-inch diameter commemorative coin designed by local resident Samantha Burk and minted by Avalon Precision Casting in Markesan.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Markesan Public Library, a wonderful asset to our community.
The raffle replaces the Historical Society’s original individual coin sale fundraiser after manufacturing issues with Sigma prevented production from moving forward as originally planned. In addition to producing the featured raffle coin, Avalon Precision Casting generously donated $3,000 to the Markesan Public Library.
Community members are encouraged to purchase tickets early due to the limited quantity available.
