This morning, our students returned to MTPS schools, where staff were ready to welcome them and help ensure a smooth start to the school year.

Superintendent Michael Ballone visited schools across the district, greeting students and staff as the 2026–2027 school year got underway.

Across MTPS, administrators, teachers, transportation staff and support staff worked together to support a successful opening day.

Today, our kindergarten students had the opportunity to visit their classrooms, meet their teachers, and become familiar with their new school surroundings.

Tomorrow, we look forward to welcoming all MTPS students back for the first day of the 2026–2027 school year.

MTPS officially opened today for the 2026–2027 school year!

Superintendent Michael Ballone welcomed staff with an inspiring message. Mr. Ballone also took a moment to thank the Marlboro Township Police Department for its continued partnership and support of our schools. Finally, staff had some fun winning prizes while listening to their favorite feel-good songs.

We are excited for the year ahead and wish our entire MTPS staff a wonderful 2026–2027 school year!

MTPS administrators came together for two days of planning, collaboration, and preparation for the 2026–27 school year!

Day one took the team to Monmouth Battlefield State Park as another way to commemorate America250, where they learned about the historic Battle of Monmouth before focusing on the year ahead.

Day two continued at the Board of Education office, where Officer Kelly Drum stopped by to introduce Sgt. Frank Bianco and share information about Chief Pezzullo’s Shop with a Cop initiative.

As our Extended School Year (ESY) Program comes to a close, we recognize our students for their continued learning and growth. Throughout the program, students strengthened important academic skills while participating in engaging activities that supported their learning.

At the July 21 Board of Education meeting, Nicole DiGeronimo and Erin Mulligan of Marlboro Middle School were recognized for the encouragement, support, and dedication they provide to students each day. A parent shared how their guidance helped her son grow academically, socially, and personally while building greater confidence and independence. Thank you, Ms. DiGeronimo and Ms. Mulligan, for helping students feel supported, challenged, and prepared for what comes next.
