We set standards for marketplace trust, provide business accreditation, offer consumer tips, and share reliable reviews to support confident buying decisions. The vision of the Better Business Bureau is to provide an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers trust each other. We do this by:
-Setting standards for marketplace trust
-Encouraging and supporting best practices by engaging with and

educating consumers and businesses
-Celebrating marketplace role models
-Calling out and addressing substandard marketplace behavior
-Creating a community of trustworthy businesses and charities

BBB sees trust as a function of two primary factors - integrity and performance. Integrity includes respect, ethics and intent. Performance speaks to a business's track record of delivering results in accordance with BBB standards and/or addressing customer concerns in a timely, satisfactory manner.

Before you post that "First Day of School" photo... ✏️

We love seeing those smiling back-to-school pictures, but scammers love them too. "First day" signs may be scraped by bad actors to steal children's identities or crack security questions.

Before uploading your photos this week, check your child’s sign for these 3 red flags:
1️⃣ School or Teacher Name (Broadcasting their exact daily location)
2️⃣ Full Name & Exact Age/DOB (Handing over data used to open fake credit accounts)
3️⃣ Favorite Things or Pet Names (The exact answers to common online security prompts)

What to do instead: Keep the public sign simple with just the grade level! Keep the detailed signs for the private family scrapbook or private messaging.
