The Marlborough Fire Department would like to acknowledge Carolina Flores who served as our intern for this summer. Carolina assisted our department with administrative duties and observed our crews working. Carolina will be attending Framingham State University in the fall to study Criminology and Anthropology. We wish her the best of luck!

Your Marlborough Firefighters responded to 812 emergency incidents in July up from 805 over last year. Year to date we have responded to 5564 incidents, continuing the year over year increase of 6%. Thank you for your continued support.

On Thursday July 23rd the Marlborough Fire Department held a promotional ceremony celebrating the promotions of 6 members. The ceremony was officiated by Fire Chief Jeffrey Gogan. An invocation was given by Father Gabriel of IC Parish, and each member was delivered their oath of office by City Clerk Steven Kerrigan. We would like to congratulate each of these members on this significant milestone.

This month we want to recognize 2 long term MFD members who have recently retired. Lieutenant Jeffrey Kasaras retired on July 10th after more than 25 years of service including 20 + years as a Lieutenant making him our longest serving company officer. Firefighter Shawn Butland retired on July 20th after more than 25 years of service to the city. We congratulate both members and wish them and their families a long and happy retirement.

This morning at 7 AM, Coastal Ambulance assumed operations as the dedicated provider of EMS services to the City of Marlborough. This new partnership significantly increases ALS ambulance coverage in the city. The increased coverage will improve response times and reduce our reliance on mutual aid ambulance coverage. We are excited for this elevated level of service for our community! We look forward to the opportunity to work with the Coastal Ambulance team.
