🤷🏻‍♂️🤔 What's your favorite Marlborough Labor Day weekend event? The Parade? The Downtown food truck festival🍔🌭? The Greek Festival 🇬🇷?.... or is it seeing your Marlborough Firefighters hit the streets for the MDA "Fill The Boot" toll road!?!? 🚒👢

A tradition like no other... we will be standing in the roads bright and early on Thursday September 3rd to raise money on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association by filling the boot. We always look forward to this event and seeing everyone's smiling faces as we collect any donation they can spare. 🪙💵💰💳

🚨👀Keep an eye out for us one week from today, and as always, STAY SAFE!🦺👨🏻‍🚒

This afternoon, Marlborough Fire crews were stretched to their limits.

At 2:13 PM, firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire along I-495 that ultimately required all three of the city’s engine companies. Crews remained committed until 3:04 PM.

Just nine minutes later, at 2:22 PM, Truck 2 and Rescue 1 were dispatched to an elevator entrapment on Broad Street and remained committed until 2:40 PM.

As a result, between 2:22 PM and 2:40 PM, there were no available fire companies in the city. Between 2:13 PM and 3:04 PM, there were no available engine companies to respond to additional emergencies.

These incidents highlight the ongoing staffing challenges facing the Marlborough Fire Department. If you believe residents deserve adequate emergency coverage, please contact your elected officials and urge them to support increased fire department staffing.
