Scattered thunderstorms have developed across western portions of North and Central Texas. Widespread rainfall totals will vary between 1-3", however, isolated 6-8" of rain will be possible overnight. The location with the highest likelihood of experiencing 6-8" is generally west of I-35 and north of I-20. The bulk of the heavy precipitation will begin moving east prior to sunrise Sunday morning, however, a few scattered storms will continue along and east of I-35. Remember, Turn Around - Don't Drown!

⛈️ Did you have any damage from this morning’s storms?

Residents are encouraged to report storm damage through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) iSTAT Damage Survey. Reporting damage helps local and state officials assess the overall impact to the community.

To report damage:
➡️ Select “General Incidents and Damages” on the TDEM iSTAT website
➡️ Submit information and photos of any storm-related damage from last night’s weather

Please remember this survey is for damage assessment purposes only and is not a request for emergency response. Completing this assessment is completely voluntary. Due to this morning's heavy rainfall event and subsequent flooding, a Local Disaster Declaration has been issued by Mayor Byrd.

UPDATE (1:36 PM on 06/06/26):

West Highway 7, between the Falls County Road & Bridge facility and the City of Marlin waste disposal site, will remain closed until further notice. This is due to water flowing over the roadway.

All other streets within the Marlin city limits have been reopened. All vehicle operators are still urged to exercise extreme caution.

Due to heavy rainfall, several locations in and around Marlin have experienced flooding. All citizens are urged to avoid the following locations until the water recedes:

- Hwy 7 - west of city limits
- North & South Bus 6
- Norwood & Fonville
- Heritage Row & Live Oak
- Commerce & Conoly
- Monroe Street
- 1300 block of Live Oak
- Ward & Bus 6

05/27/26: Faulkner Park will be closed until further notice due to a unstable fallen tree. Due to its large size, a contractor has been contacted to remove the tree. We will post an update once the tree's removal is complete.

Scattered to widespread showers and storms will move across North and Central Texas during the day Thursday bringing a localized heavy rain and flash flooding threat to parts of the region. Most locations will see 0.5-1.5" of rainfall through Thursday night, but a few locations may pick up 2-3+" of rain. If you encounter flooded roadways, Turn Around, Don't Drown!
