The Morris County CIT-NJ Team is being recognized for its exceptional leadership, innovation, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to advancing crisis intervention efforts across New Jersey.

Throughout 2025, the Morris County team demonstrated what a comprehensive and forward-thinking CIT program should look like—bringing together law enforcement, mental health professionals, dispatchers, EMS, and community partners into a coordinated and compassionate system of care.

A defining strength of the Morris County program has been its commitment to growth and innovation.

Through initiatives such as ARRIVE Together, specialized dispatcher training, and Veterans Response Training, the team has significantly enhanced the county’s ability to respond to complex behavioral health crises with professionalism, empathy, and effectiveness.
Their dedication to high-quality training and professional development has ensured that responders across every discipline are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to safely navigate crisis situations while improving outcomes for individuals and families.

This week, May 11–17, 2026, we recognize Mental Health Awareness Week — a time to continue breaking stigma, encouraging conversations, and reminding others that mental health matters every single day.

Here at the CIT-NJ Center of Excellence Program, we remain committed to building stronger partnerships between law enforcement, mental health professionals, dispatchers, EMS, educators, peers, families, and community advocates across New Jersey.

Every conversation, every act of compassion, and every effort to understand someone in crisis can make a life-changing difference.

Mental health affects all of us. Together, we can continue creating safer, more compassionate communities through education, awareness, collaboration, and support.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please know you are not alone. Help is available, and hope is real.

Thank you to all of the professionals, peers, first responders, clinicians, telecommunicators, advocates, and families who work every day to support those facing mental health challenges.
