This mindset often goes understated, especially when firefighters find themselves caught up in the negatives. But it’s vital to remember: it is, and always will be, a privilege to serve. Our field is one of the most highly respected jobs on earth and countless people WISH they were in your boots.
While many dread going to work, us firefighters don’t because we WANT to. We didn’t have to choose this career, but we did. And that choice matters. We don’t just have to do this job. We GET to do it!
