Checking in with Carle the Monarch Caterpillar:
Carle is growing bigger and eating much more than last week. He is likely in his 4 or 5th instar stage and should be going into the pupae (chrysalis) stage soon.

Who's more popular: Cats or Dogs?
Right now kitties are in the lead with the most food donations. Show some love for your favorite type of pet by donating items to our shelter food drive! Items will be donated to the Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS). Deadline is June 20th.

We will be reading to PAWS to Read therapy dogs on June 20th at 1pm. No donation or fee is required to attend, but an adult must be present to sign a program waiver.

We are just one week away from our Plant a Seed, Read- Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party! happening Tuesday, June 9th from 12pm-3pm.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy our new giant Connect Four game and other outdoor games, giant bubbles, and popsicles.

We will be offering a drawing at our kick off event for a Peoria Park District "More to Explore" 2-person multi-attraction pass and 1 set of 12 reusable crocheted water balloons made by one of our amazing volunteers! Drawing will be held at 3:00pm on June 9th.
Winners need not be present to win.

Weekly check-in with Carle, our monarch caterpillar!
Carle hatched out of a tiny egg on May 26th and is now the size of a grain of rice.
Carle eats milkweed, the only food that monarch caterpillars eat.

REMINDER:
The library will begin summer hours beginning June 1st. We are open:
Tuesday/Thursday 12:00pm-8:00pm
Wednesday/Friday 12:00pm-6:00pm
Saturday 10:00am-3:00pm
Sunday/Monday- CLOSED

(The only real difference is we open at noon on Wednesdays and Fridays)

We will resume fall hours on September 7th after Labor Day.
