We are so very blessed in the community and reminded of this when storms like this happen! Thanks to the Marquette KS Fire Department for opening up the station to keep evwryone cool, to Riverview Estates for the delicious homemade cookies and the crackers and to McPherson County 911 for all the snacks and water!

Humid conditions and afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s to upper 90s will support heat indices between 100 and 107 across a large portion of the area this afternoon. Be sure to stay hydrated if outdoors today.

Could get bumpy! Please stay safe and have a plan in case of severe weather!

A complex of strong to severe storms will move over parts of central and eastern Kansas this evening into tonight. The strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging winds of 60-80 mph, hail up to golf ball size, and heavy rain. A brief tornado may also be possible.

Now as we say goodbye to National EMS Week 2026, we want to thank the community for all the support we receive, our Fire Board for always putting up with our cool ideas, and our Marquette KS Fire Department for always being there to back us up!
