Blue Jays in D.C. Continued! 🇺🇸

The adventures keep coming! Our students spent the last few days exploring some incredible places, including the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and more. Along the way, they learned about our nation’s history, shared lots of laughs, and made memories they’ll never forget 🫶🏼.

We’re having a great time watching our Blue Jays experience D.C., one stop at a time! We love this for them!! 💙🐦

📍🇺🇸 Our C.T. Janet 8th graders are making memories in our nation’s capital this summer! Along with Ms. Schiro and Mrs. Borne, students have spent the week exploring some of our country’s most historic landmarks and bringing history to life beyond the classroom.

So far, students have visited the Washington Monument, Smithsonian National Museum of American History, Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, the United States Supreme Court, the Pentagon Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Pentagon Memorial, Smithsonian National Zoo, Ford’s Theatre, Mount Vernon and the Marine Corps War Memorial. They even witnessed military honors and the Changing of the Guard, creating powerful connections to the history they’ve learned in the classroom.

We can’t wait to see where the rest of their adventure takes them! Stay posted! 💙🐦

Christine Baudoin is a 5th grade ELA teacher at C.T. Janet Elementary with 14 years of experience in education. Her passion for teaching began at a young age, when she would “play school” as a child. Encouraged by a friend later in life, she pursued her dream of becoming a teacher and has been making an impact ever since.

She values building strong relationships with her students and their families, creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Her commitment goes beyond the classroom, often connecting with her team in the evenings to discuss ways to support student growth and success.

She is grateful for the support she receives from her leadership and colleagues and credits that teamwork as a key part of her students’ achievements. Christine hopes her students remember her as someone who truly saw them, believed in them, and supported them every step of the way.

“I want my students to know that I truly care about them, and that I am always here to support them and help them succeed.” -Christine Baudoin
