It has truly been a pleasure to add so many wonderful individuals to our 1st floor community over the last year!!

Now joining the spa suites are Red and Zia Buttitta, working under the business name 3 Sisters Wellness. You might recognize Zia from her time at the Spa at Capitola Mill prior to the flood, and we’re so excited to welcome her back to the building in this new chapter.

3 Sisters Wellness offers thoughtfully curated, integrative massage experiences focused on whole-body relaxation and restoration. Their sessions are fully customized and include special touches like hot towels, face and scalp massage, and the option of hot stones, gua sha, or cupping. Appointments are available in 60- and 90-minute sessions, depending on individual needs.

They also offer wellness enhancements such as herbal treatments using handcrafted botanical salves, aromatherapy with therapeutic-grade essential oils, and dry brushing to exfoliate skin, boost circulation, and support lymphatic flow.

Booking is available online at https://3sisterswellness.glossgenius.com

Hey, you're not going to believe this but we got a postcard from 1906!! Friend and former Capitola Mill resident John Davis found this post card for sale on ebay. After much work by Engine House Design and Henco North, the photo was able to be enlarged from the tiny 3" x 5" postcard into the 5' by 3' display you see below.

Over the years we have collected many pictures of Capitola Mill but never one in such sharp detail and so close to when construction of the mill was completed just one year earlier in 1905. The stone and steel Lower Bridge Street is sharp and clear in its detail. The sluice made from logs is amazing. The angled-roofed shed on the front of the building was called the wheelhouse and held a waterwheel used to power not only the mill's machinery but also the street lights on Main Street.

In 1905, the mill was only two stories tall and the sluice used to power the mill ran where the front driveway now exists. Several of Capitola's out-buildings can be seen on Cotton Mill Hill. The gorgeous Marshall Milling building with its mansard roof sits impressively to the left where the Capitola Dam substation is located.

The inscription is dated November 12, 1906 says: "Shall leave Marshall for Cincinnati tomorrow, Tues at 3-30 P.M Both well much love to all Binda Tullis". Weather records from this time indicated that Marshall was experiencing unusually cold weather that day and that might explain why the river appears to be partially frozen.

Stop by to see the photo yourself located across from our Fitness Center. And, as always, if you have history to add to this postcard, or to Capitola Mill in general, we would love for you to share it or place it in our community room for all to see. Thanks for helping us to keep Capitola's history alive.
