Community Voices

One of the most meaningful parts of CHC’s Youth Advisory Council(YAC) is watching young people connect with the neighbors we serve.

Through Community Voices, YAC members are sitting down with longtime Madison County residents, listening to their stories, and learning what it means to grow older in the place you call home.

For many CHC neighbors, a few repairs or accessibility improvements can mean the difference between leaving home and staying safely where they belong. And when people can age in place, they stay connected to the neighbors, friends, family, and community that have shaped their lives.

These conversations are about more than housing. They’re about listening, learning, and building connections across generations.

We’re grateful to everyone who has shared their story, and to the young people who are taking the time to listen.
