🚨Marshall Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted for kidnapping. 🚨

Today at approximately 7:29 a.m., the Marshall Police Department (MPD) Communications Center received a call requesting a welfare check in the 1300 block of East Pinecrest Drive. Upon arrival, MPD Patrol officers located a female victim who reported that she had been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Jamichael Brown. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was able to escape from Brown before law enforcement arrived. Brown fled the area prior to officers arrival.

Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division (CID) detectives immediately initiated an investigation into the incident. Through investigative efforts, detectives were able to locate Brown’s vehicle in Greenwood, Louisiana. A coordinated search operation involving the Marshall Police Department, the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force, Waskom Police Department, Greenwood Police Department, and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office was conducted in an attempt to locate Brown. Despite extensive search efforts, Brown was not located.

Brown is currently wanted on three felony warrants. Two of those warrants, Violation of Bond Conditions and Assault of a Pregnant Person, stem from a prior incident involving the same victim. As a result of the current investigation, Marshall Police Department detectives also secured a warrant charging Brown with Aggravated Kidnapping.

Brown should be considered armed and dangerous. The Marshall Police Department urges the public not to approach him. Anyone who sees Brown or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to immediately contact 911 or their local law enforcement agency.

The Marshall Police Department would like to thank the Greenwood Police Department, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Waskom Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Hallsville Police Department, and the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force for their assistance and cooperation during this investigation.

This remains an active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at (903) 935-4575 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers. # # #

🚨Swift Response Recovers Property🚨

A quick response and proactive investigative work by Marshall Police Department patrol officers led to the recovery of stolen property and the arrest of a suspect following a reported theft on Friday, May 29, 2026.

At approximately 2:46 p.m., officers responded to the Wingwood Terrace area regarding the theft of a w**d trimmer that had been taken from a resident’s driveway. Officers obtained surveillance footage from the victim’s security camera and were able to identify a vehicle believed to be involved in the theft. While following up on the investigation, an officer began checking local pawn shops and located the suspect vehicle at one of the businesses.

The suspect was found inside the pawn shop attempting to pawn the stolen w**d trimmer. During the investigation, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a chainsaw believed to be stolen. Ownership of the chainsaw has not yet been determined, and the investigation into that property remains ongoing.

Jadaeilyn Damonei Bennett, 21, was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property ($100–$750) and an outstanding Parole Violation Warrant. Bennett was transported to the Harrison County Jail. The stolen w**d trimmer was recovered and returned to its owner.

The Marshall Police Department encourages residents to take steps to protect lawn equipment and other valuable property from theft. Residents are reminded to avoid leaving lawn equipment unattended in driveways or yards, even for short periods of time, and to secure items in garages, sheds, or locked storage areas when not in use. Recording serial numbers and marking equipment with identifying information can also assist in recovery if items are stolen.

Security cameras can play a critical role in helping solve crimes. Residents are encouraged to ensure cameras are properly positioned, functioning, and capable of capturing clear images of vehicles and individuals near entryways, driveways, and other vulnerable areas. Regularly checking camera settings, maintaining adequate lighting, and saving footage when suspicious activity occurs can help aid investigations.

“This case highlights the value of surveillance footage and the quick, proactive work of our patrol officers in recovering stolen property and holding offenders accountable,” said Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth.

Wearing Seatbelts Saves Lives👀

The Marshall Police Department was proud to participate in the Click It or Ticket press conference today in Texarkana. This public event reminds everyone that wearing a seatbelt is their best protection in case of a crash. And it is the LAW. In Texas, all occupants of a vehicle must be wearing a seatbelt at all times while on a public roadway.
