Attention Marshall Fairgrounds Drop Site Users

Recycling containers at the Marshall drop site will be removed from the parking lot starting Monday, August 10 at 8 a.m. in preparation for the Lyon County Fair, which runs Wednesday, August 12 through Sunday, August 16.

There will be no drop site recycling in Marshall from Monday, August 10 through Sunday, August 16.

Containers will return to their usual site starting at 8 a.m. on August 17.

In the meantime, please use the Lynd, Ghent, or Lyon County Landfill recycling drop sites.

Not all plastic belongs in your recycling cart β€” and putting the wrong items in can contaminate a whole batch of recyclables.

❌ NOT recyclable (even though they're plastic):
Plastic flower pots β€’ Motor oil containers β€’ RV antifreeze containers - Pesticide/chemical containers β€’ Plastic toys β€’ Garden hoses - Plastic bags and film β€’ Pet food bags β€’ Solar salt bags

βœ… YES, these are recyclable (clean and empty):
Water, soda, and juice bottles β€’ Milk jugs β€’ Laundry detergent bottles - Shampoo and conditioner bottles β€’ Yogurt, margarine, and cottage cheese tubs

Before you recycle:
1. Empty all contents 2. Give containers a quick rinse 3. Do NOT bag your recyclables β€” no loose bags or film in the cart or at a community dropsite

Ideal candidates must be prepared for a schedule that includes early morning shifts, weekends, and holiday work.

Salary Range: $25.27 - $35.38/hr (Overtime eligible)

Starting July 20th, 2026 Lyon County curbside Monday recycling will be picked up at 3AM in the morning. For Monday pickups only.
It is very important for Marshall curbside residents who have their recycling picked up on Mondays to have their cart out the night before so they are not missed.
