Communities In Schools of East Texas Surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

More than 50,000 East Texas and Deep East Texas school students are in at-risk situations for failure and of dropping out of school. With the help of Communities in Schools of East Texas (CISET) many will beat the odds this year and stay in school. Communities in Schools of East Texas (administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA)) is part of an innovative national approach established to combat the dropout problem.

August 18, our C9 Site Coordinator hosted Donuts with CIS, a meet-and-greet opportunity for teachers and staff to connect, enjoy a sweet treat, and learn more about the Communities In Schools program.

We’re grateful to Honeybee Coffee for donating a $25 gift card for our raffle and to Shipley Donuts for partnering with CIS! Through this partnership, the campus can receive leftover donuts at closing to enjoy at events the following day.

Donuts with CIS was a wonderful opportunity to treat our amazing educators, meet new faces around campus, build meaningful partnerships, and share how CIS is here to support students, families, and staff.

Step Right Up to Project Ops! 🎟️🎪

CISETX recently brought our team together over these past 2 days for our annual Project Ops Staff Meeting, and this year, we took a trip to the carnival! 🎡🎠🍿

While the day was filled with fun, games, laughter, and plenty of carnival spirit, we also came together to share important information, celebrate our team, reflect on the work we do, and look ahead to another impactful year.

At Communities In Schools of East Texas, we believe that when we surround students with a caring community, they can achieve their goals and reach their full potential. ❤️

Our staff works every day to connect students and families with the support, resources, encouragement, and opportunities they need to succeed. Project Ops was a wonderful reminder that behind the work are dedicated people who show up, care deeply, and are committed to being .

Communities In Schools works alongside students every day to help them stay in school and achieve in life.

Last year, CIS students achieved strong outcomes: 99% stayed in school, 98% were promoted, and 98% graduated. School supplies are often one of the first supports that helps a student start strong.

Communities In Schools of East Texas is officially at Northside Elementary! 🎉

CIS Site Coordinator Ms. Micheal had the opportunity to meet and connect with teachers and staff, introduce herself, and share information about the services CIS provides to support students and families throughout the school year.

This special welcome wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Shipley Do-Nuts and local coffee shop Cozy Coffee! ☕🍩 Their donations helped make the event extra special for the Northside Elementary team.

Teachers also had the opportunity to participate in a raffle, with one lucky winner taking home a Fall Apple Orchard-scented candle. Free school and office supplies were also available for teachers to help support them throughout the school year.

We are excited to officially be part of the Northside Elementary family and look forward to a wonderful year of supporting students, families, and staff!
