A very small area of the District is still affected by no water. Maxwell, Stouffer, and Smith may be out until tomorrow.

Everyone else should be good to go. If you notice extra stuff in your water, it is the normal stuff that gets mixed up when the water is shut off and started again.

Run some laundry to get it out of your lines. Do not fill your pool for a few days as you might be adding extra stuff to the water.

I am so glad February is over. If you signed up for PDF billing, these just went out. If you will put your account number in the memo area you do not need to print the bill to give me part of it.

Post card bills will go out tomorrow. They may reach some of you by Thursday or Friday. The due date is still March 15.

Thank you for your patience this month.

The road at 159th will be cut again tomorrow morning around 7:30 after the bus passes to exchange casing for the water line. It will reopen when that has been completed which is hopefully before noon.

if you need to get out, go west to either Hunter or Horizon then to another numbered road, and back to 65 HWY.

MANY THANKS to everyone that was able to conserve water during this time. Currently, the situation is that the area around Miami is doing better and you can all begin using water.

The story changed due to discoveries in the area but basically, we had a "Perfect Storm" for water issues. As many people used extra water to keep pipes from freezing due to temperatures being below freezing, animal water floats got stuck in an on position, there were some leaks in the area, and we had an issue getting our usual supply of water from MMU. There are probably a few other things missing that caused this situation.

We adapt, learn, and try to foresee issues and solutions for the future. We thank you for your assistance in keeping our rural community in-water during this time.

We need your help in the Miami area. We think now there may be a HUGE leak in the area as the pumps can’t keep up with demand. MMU doesn't pump water continuously to our lines but now that we are pumping again, we are still not able to keep up with the water flowing out.

While the leak could be on the District side, it probably is on the customer's side meaning it could be someone's meter that is broken, and water is flowing at maximum. This could be at a vacant house, a basement, in a backyard, a broken water hydrant, water could be flowing down into a drainage ditch. This could be a cattle water that is broken and water if overflowing at top capacity.

If you are aware of an abandoned meter or a house that is not in use, please comment below on how to get in touch with the owner or if you have access to the property so we can check it out. The water is flowing somewhere but we don't know where.

Please check your area and call your neighbors and have them check their areas for this leak. If you know of a vacant home or know how to get in touch with the homeowner, please do. Water is going somewhere and not staying in the water system.

Eric is trying to find the leak but the cell phone keeps ringing, and the area isn’t friendly to ATT, so he pulls over and isn’t able to keep working to find the leak. Your help is much appreciated.

If you see extra water in an area please call the office, 660-886-7079, and leave a message or comment below. Denise will forward the information to Eric to check out. Thank you for your patience and assistance.

The office is closed today but Denise will be monitoring the phone lines periodically. If you have an emergency and need help immediately, please call Eric Fann at 660-631-3079.

Denise fell on the ice and is resting at home but is still able to monitor phone calls occasionally. Please do not expect a return message immediately as the medicine she is taking is making her very sleepy.

The Miami area AND the Miami town water system NEEDS to stop using any additional water so that there is water available for drinking tomorrow. We have never experienced this kind of freezing weather and there is a concern Miami town and surrounding area will be out of water in the morning. There will be low water pressure in some areas until the extreme temperatures leave.

Please stop washing clothes, running the dishwater, or taking long baths or showers.

If there are other ways to not use water, please encourage that.
“If it is yellow, let it mellow. If it is brown, flush it down.

If you are running some water through the house such as dripping faucets, we understand that but appreciate your conservation areas in other ways.

If you have questions, Eric Fann's number is 660-631-3079. Please leave your number and name so he can call you back. He may be assisting another customer as meters are freezing.

Thank you for your assistance and patience as we work to get through this unprecedented time!

Please talk to any of your neighbors that may not be aware of the need to conserve water,

Denise & Eric

HELP NEEDED in the area surrounding MIAMI or if your account starts with a 1. Please avoid washing clothes, running the dishwasher, or even taking long showers or baths, if possible. Due to the higher use of extra water running in houses (to avoid frozen pipes), we need to limit any additional water use in the area.

If you have concerns, please contact Eric Fann at 660-631-3079. Leave a message with your phone number and address, and he will return your call.

While working along North Highway 65, the water line was hit about 10:45 am. Eric will be heading out to repair. Yes, this will cause the water to have air and stir up the naturally occurring sediment in the line.

Questions/concerns for PWSD #3 Water Board Can water board meeting Tuesday night, February 23rd be live streamed like the Marshall school board meetings are so people in MIami can listen in and hear what’s happening on the Miami water issue? I think water lines are typically flushed after water has been off but because of present water status, I’m sure that wasn’t possible... I would like to know how this effects everything. Is this the reason for our horrible chemical smell? PWSD3... I would like info on flushing of lines. Watering livestock has been thrown out as the possible problem. PWSD3 simply needs to check those water meters and verify usage. If this is the reason simply pump more water to Miami area during this time to cover the amount needed for both livestock and human consumption. PROBLEM SOLVED! Is there any update on reason/cause of the issue? Or When water will be restored?
How much longer do we have to boil our drinking water? This is getting really old!
I was personally told by Eric Fann early last week that the water would be fine in the "next couple of days." Obviously that has not happened. Can you please let us - the BILL-PAYING CUSTOMERS know what is going on and why this is taking so long?? It is unconscionable that should have to contact the DNR to get answers. We have had to purchase water or boil it for the last 21 days!!!
