Training Today for Tomorrow’s Emergencies 🚒🚨

Crews from Marengo Township Fire Department Marshall Fire Department, and Fredonia Township Firefighter’s Association came together for a comprehensive multi-department extrication training.
First responders rotated through several complex, hands-on rescue scenarios:

+Vehicle Stabilization: Utilizing struts, cribbing, and step chocks on overturned and side-resting vehicles.

+Heavy Extrication: Working through challenging underride scenarios involving semi-trailers and passenger cars.

+Hydraulic Tool Operations: Practicing precise door pops, roof removals, and dash displacements to access simulated patients.

+Patient Care & Packaging: Coordinating rapid, safe removal techniques while maintaining spinal precautions.
Joint trainings like this are vital.

Emergencies don’t stop at municipal borders, and working side-by-side ensures smooth communication, shared tactics, and seamless teamwork when our communities need us most.

Heavy power meets serious precision. 🥚💪

During training last night, our crew got hands-on with our new Genesis Battery-Operated Extrication Tools.
While these tools are built to rip through reinforced steel in seconds, real rescue work requires absolute finesse. We put our control to the test with two classic precision drills:

The Egg Drill: Moving raw eggs between traffic cones using the spreaders without cracking a single shell.

Controlled Cuts: Shaving and slicing wood blocks to master micro-adjustments on the variable-speed cutters.

We might not get dispatched to rescue breakfast anytime soon, but mastering this level of control ensures that when seconds count on a real scene, every movement is smooth, safe, and precise.
