Happy Firefighter Friday! 🔥🚒

We want to give a huge thank you to MnFIRE for featuring Women Explore Fire in their recent blog post and for helping shine a light on the importance of supporting firefighters both on and off the job.

One thing we often hear from women considering the fire service is hesitation around handling difficult calls and challenging situations. We want future firefighters to know that you are not alone. Organizations like MnFIRE provide critical mental health resources, peer support, and assistance for firefighters navigating those hard moments.

The fire service is built on teamwork, and that support extends beyond the fireground. 💙

We also hold space for those grieving a mother or child, navigating loss, estrangement, infertility, or longing to become mothers. You are seen, valued, and not alone today.

🔥 Firefighter Friday 🔥

Today we’re celebrating all the incredible women who attended Women Explore Fire Day events around the state! From hands-on activities and live demonstrations to meeting firefighters and learning about the many opportunities in the fire service, this event was all about inspiration, empowerment, and possibility. 🚒👩‍🚒

We’re excited to share even more photos from events held across the state that helped make this experience unforgettable. Every helmet tried on, every hose pulled, and every question asked could be the beginning of a future career in the fire service.

To everyone who attended: thank you for showing up, stepping outside your comfort zone, and exploring what it means to serve your community. We hope this was just the beginning of your journey to learning more about the fire service and discovering where your passions can take you.

And who knows — in the future, we may get the opportunity to feature some of YOU on our page as firefighters who first experienced the fire service through Women Explore Fire Day and later joined the fire service family. ❤️🚒

As we reflect on the day after Women Explore Fire Day, we’re left with smiles on our faces and so much love in our hearts. ❤️

The stories shared, the sense of community, and the memories created are things we’ll carry with us for a long time. Our hearts are full. We hope this experience empowered and inspired others to explore a passion that means so much to us.

Here’s a small glimpse of the moments that captured the unity of this initiative across Minnesota yesterday—women coming together, standing side by side for a common goal.

On the eve of our inaugural Women Explore Fire Day in Minnesota, it feels especially meaningful to share that the Governor has officially proclaimed Saturday, May 2, 2026, as Women Explore Fire Day in Minnesota.

This recognition reflects the unity and collaboration behind this effort—so many people across the state coming together to make this day possible.

To those who have served in the fire service, those who are serving today, and those who will be joining us tomorrow to see if this path is for you, along with all of our supporters, we stand together. Together, we continue to find meaningful and creative ways to serve our communities and neighbors to the very best of our ability.

Tomorrow, we are united as Minnesotans for an important purpose: to ensure our communities’ calls are answered and that our fire service reflects the people we serve.
