Major wreck occurred on Highway 59 at 2625. Praying for all involved! Roadway should be completely open soon. We, at Harrison County, want to remind everyone to use caution and stay alert while operating a motor vehicle.

The smoke everyone is experiencing is coming from prescribed burns. Over the past several days there has been approximately 13,000 acres burned across 6 or 7 counties to our south plus the 1,000 acres around Caddo Lake. Citizens of Harrison County are safe and hopefully the smoke will be gone soon.

The smoke, west of Marshall, is a prescribed burn. The fire is still within the parameters set and is controlled at this time. Hallsville and Nesbit fire is on scene as a precaution. Please avoid the area, the smoke is thick and you will only add to the danger.

TORNADO WARNING: The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Tornado Warning including parts of rural Gregg and Harrison Counties until 5:30 pm. Longview and Hallsville are no longer included in the warning area.
