Yesterday morning shortly after 0400 hours, Stations 2/21 along with mutual aid were dispatched for a reported Residential Structure Fire. Deputy 2 arrived on scene to find a single story dwelling with fire showing from an attached garage. Engine 21 arrived on scene as the first due engine, establishing a water supply and stretched a hand line for fire attack. All searches of the residence proved to be negative. Crews operated on scene for a little over 2 hours before being released by command.

07/25/2026 • Box Alarm 2111 •

This afternoon, shortly after 1200 hours, Stations 2/21 along with mutual aid were dispatched for a Multi-Residential Structure Fire with reports of entrapment. RE21, Deputy’s 2 & 21 all on the road, made a quick response, arriving to find smoke showing from a second floor apartment. RE-21 arrived as the first engine, establishing a water supply, and stretched a hand line for fire attack. One occupant was assisted out of the structure and one other subject was evaluated by ALS & BLS. All other search’s of the structure were proved to be negative and the scene was placed under control. Deputy 2 held the Mill Creek Command. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for our area, which means conditions are favorable for tornadoes.

We know “watch vs warning” can be confusing, especially on a busy weather day, so let’s break it down with a light-hearted example:

Tornado Watch = We have all the ingredients to make tacos.
The atmosphere has what it needs to possibly make tornadoes, but nothing’s on the plate yet. Be prepared, review your safety plan, and keep an eye on alerts.

Tornado Warning = The tacos are ready and being served RIGHT NOW.
A tornado has been spotted or indicated by radar and is happening or imminent in the warned area. That’s your cue to take action immediately: go to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.

This afternoon shortly after 1500 hours, Ladder 21 was dispatched to assist Five Points Fire Company on a reported structure fire. Deputy 17 arrived and reported fire from the rear of a 2-Story Middle of the Row townhouse. Ladder 21 on the initial alarm, arrived as the 3rd due special service. Ladder 21s crew split, the outside team operated on the roof assisting with ventilation, while the inside team assisted with fire suppression and overhaul of an exposure unit. Ladder 21 operated on scene for a little over 3 hours before being released by command.

Heat like this can turn deadly in minutes. With tomorrow’s heat index expected to exceed 110°, it is critical to remember that vehicles heat up far faster than most people realize.

Even on a day in the 90s, the temperature inside a car can rise to dangerous levels in just minutes. Cracking a window does not make it safe. For infants, children, the elderly, and pets, this can quickly become fatal.

Never leave anyone in a vehicle, even for a short time. Always check the back seat before locking your car. If you see a child, older adult, or pet alone in a vehicle, call 911 immediately.

Simple steps can help save lives:

Put your phone, purse, or work bag in the back seat as a reminder.

Lock your car every time to prevent children from climbing in unnoticed.

Check the entire vehicle every time you exit.

This heat is dangerous, and it does not take long for a life-threatening emergency to happen. Please double-check before you walk away.
