🎉 MLA & TC Family Night = A Huge Success! 🎉

What an incredible evening at MLA and TC Family Night! 💛 It was so special to see our students, families, and staff come together for a night full of laughter, connection, and community.

the food was AMAZING!! Thank you to all who donated clothing and food items your support helped make this night memorable for our families and students! HUGE thank you to MLA’s iJAG teacher Monica and the MLA iJAG students, you all did a great job developing this soecial evening with our community in mind! Great work!! 💙👏

Jayden we are SO PROUD of you!! ❤️💙

📝 Congratulations to Jayden Catron, a 12th-grader at Marshalltown Learning Academy, for an incredible achievement in creative writing! Jayden’s poem, “Solitude and Love,” has been selected for publication in Excellence, a new poetry anthology from The America Library of Poetry.

Chosen from thousands of entries nationwide, fewer than 20% of submissions are published—making this recognition especially impressive.

We are so proud to celebrate our students’ creativity and talent! Winners of the 2025 Student Poetry Contest will be officially announced on September 30.

🌱 Growing to Greatness at MLA, MVA & TC! 🌱

We’ve been up to some great things, and we couldn’t be more proud of our students and staff! 💚

✨ At MLA, our students have already earned an impressive 34.5 credits (69 courses) since the beginning of the school year– students are showing they are focused, determined, and working hard toward their goals.
✨ MLA students also designed a float and proudly represented our school in the Marshalltown Parade 🎉 – such a fun way to share our spirit with the community!
✨ MVA students have successfully completed over 10 courses in the past week!– proving that hard work and perseverance pay off in a virtual setting!
✨ We honored our roots by naming the MLA hallways after two of the original teachers who helped shape our program.-Mr. Kenealy and Mr. Carpenter.
✨ TC students and staff have been building strong classroom communities, setting goals, and showing growth every single day. They even had a special visitor for Homecoming Week – Bobby the Bobcat! 🐾
✨ TC and MLA staff came together to surprise Mrs. Terry with a birthday celebration 🎉 – a reminder that our school family always supports one another.

At MLA, MVA & TC, we are living our best life and truly growing to greatness! 🌵💪

🎉 We Did It—First Week Complete at MLA! 🎉

What an amazing first week of school for our MLA students and staff! Students jumped right in—building relationships, setting high expectations, and supporting each other in growing to greatness. 🌱✨

📚 16 credits completed this first week of school that is 32 classes completed across the program in the first week of school! WOW 🤩 amazing job to the students at MLA and the staff supporting them.

✅ Students are already finding success in their courses
✅ Hallways and classrooms are clear, focused, and welcoming
✅ Teachers are taking ownership of expectations and providing personalized supports
✅ Advisory check-ins are helping us stay connected and on track

We are so proud of the teamwork, dedication, and positive energy that filled our classrooms and halls this week. Thank you to our families, staff, and students for making this such a strong start. 💚 Here’s to a year of growth, achievement, and continued success!

We Are Growing to Greatness! ✨🌱

Today we welcomed our amazing staff from all three programs MLA,MVA, and TC back for the 2025–2026 school year! Our morning was filled with energy, connection, and growth as staff rotated through stations designed to build relationships, reflect on goals, and recharge for the year ahead. I am so EXCITED to work with such an amazing group of educators!

We are so excited to welcome back our students Monday, August 25th—it’s going to be an incredible year of learning and growth! 💚

🌟 Don’t forget: Open House is Wednesday, August 20th from 5:00–6:30 PM. We can’t wait to see all of you!!!

Reminder: Back to School Night is on Wednesday, August 20! 🔔

Each building will host its Back to School Night at the following times:
⭐Elementary schools, 4:00-5:30pm
⭐Lenihan Intermediate, 4:30-6:00pm
⭐Miller Middle, High School, Learning Academy & Therapeutic Classroom, 5:00-6:30pm

This is a great preview for families ahead of the first day of school on Monday, August 25, and preschool on Tuesday, September 2!
