NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED BUDGET DECREASE IN APPROPRIATIONS

Pursuant to Section 331.434(6), Code of Iowa, the Board of Supervisors of Marshall County, Iowa, will conduct a public hearing on April 22, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. regarding a proposed decrease in 2025-2026 budget appropriations. The hearing will take place in the Marshall County Courthouse 1st floor Meeting Room, 1 E Main St Marshalltown, Iowa. The following departmental decreases in appropriation of more than 10% or $5,000, whichever is greater, are proposed:
GIS -$54,800
County Supervisors -$27,940
General Assistance -$5,800

Snowmobile and Off Highway Vehicle Registrations Expire January 1, 2026

Off highway vehicle and snowmobile registrations will expire Jan 1, 12:00 am, a penalty fee will be assessed beginning Jan 1. Registrations will be considered delinquent after that date.

The penalty for a delinquent renewal is $5.00. Snowmobile and off highway vehicle registrations can be renewed with any county recorder office. Nonresident user permits can be purchased from any DNR license agent and most county recorder offices. Snowmobiles and off highway vehicles can be renewed and nonresident user permits can be purchased on the DNR Go Outdoors website https://gooutdoorsiowa.com/ . Customers will need to log into their customer account to renew a registration or purchase a user permit. Resident OHV and snowmobile customers cannot purchase and do not need a user permit to operate their vehicles on public land or ice.

UPDATE: The recount was completed and there were no changes to the vote count in Marshall County.

The Marshall County Elections Department will be conducting the recount for ballots voted in Marshall County for the Gladbrook Reinbeck School District Public Measure at 11:00 AM today, Wednesday, November 19th at the Election Center, 107 S 1st Ave, Marshalltown.
